Reevaluating my life

The past two months had been a difficult time in my life. I had to make some decisions that I thought I could handle seamlessly, but in reality they were actually very serious matters I had to deal with. I had to wait in anxiety for the results of an application I submitted that I was hoping would be a turning point in my career. Nonetheless, I am anxiously waiting and almost running out of hope for it… It almost seems like it is not meant for me. I had to break a heart… and it was not easy. I can only be sad at the fact that I gave up on a person whom I thought I could never live without for almost 2.5 years. I realized that I have to learn standing on my own before I depend on someone else. Until then, I am not ready to be in a relationship… and I am just fine on my own. Although, I’d hate to lose a friend but I cannot be that selfish…

Anyway, these are probably all confusing you. This is also why I haven’t done a blog post in so long. I also almost lost all interest in posting tweets on twitter. It used to be a haven of privacy, but since I’ve had a certain someone view it almost all the time (stalking it), I don’t think I can no longer be as comfortable posting tweets as I did before. So when will I ever go back into my obsession of social media… who knows. Until then, I leave you this message. :) Have a good day everyone, if anyone is reading this.

Hello everyone! Sorry for being MIA this past few weeks. I’ve just been really busy with preparing for the holidays and all… starting my critical care core and taking these tests related to work. How was your holidays??? It was very difficult to squeeze in youtube and my blog with this hectic schedule. :P But I’ve got some pictures to showecase my new lipstick collection!!! Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

So I decided to jump in the bandwagon and purchase these wonderful lippies called “Lip Butters” from Revlon. I have been ignoring these since the first review video I saw of it on youtube… until I started seeing more and more videos pop up and people tweeting about it. Then, I decided… it’s time to get these bitches. LOL!

I got them for US$7.25 each from CVS (a drugstore in the U.S.). It’s a fair price considering the incredible quality of these babies. It may be a pricey for a “drugstore” product but they are very much up there with the fancy brands when it comes to quality. They are very smooth in texture, very creamy, with a few exceptions of the shimmery ones that make the gritty feeling more noticeable. Nonetheless, they are excellent lip products that are comparable and actually may be even better than some high-end lip products.

from left to right the color names are “Sweet Tart” (bright hot pink), “Candy Apple” (orangey bright red), “Peach Parfait” (peachy nude with gold shimmers), and “Gumdrop” (light pastel lilac).

Finally an Update! Skull Candy Earphones & Nail Polishes & A Thank You to you!

Finally! HAHA I had a chance to post something up today. I’m going to feature two nail polishes that I love! These nail polishes are actually more suitable for the summer and spring but I didn’t really care what season it is… If I wanna wear it, I will wear it :P. Also, I wanted to show you my new cool earphones!

By the way, a lot of people asked me about my contact lenses. The brand name is Solotica and the color is “Hidrocharme Ice.” They are supposed to be an ice grey color but they look more bluish against my original dark brown eyes. If you search it up on Youtube and Google Images, you will see a variety of amazing most-natural looking colors! I think they are the most natural-looking contact lenses I ever saw. I already had some people come up to me complimenting and asking if it was real (mostly because they know blue/grey colors are not natural in Asian genetics). However if I was Caucasian, I doubt people will ever question it because of how natural they look. Unfortunately, they are only available in Europe and I had to order them online. I have been wearing this nail color very frequently! You must have seen me wear this in my Makeup Collection video… It’s called “Aruba Blue” by Essie!

Next is my new Skullcandy earphones that I bought at F.Y.E. and oh boy this little thing is great! and not to mention… pink! I love earphones/headphones/speakers with awesome-sounding bass!

Most of you of course will not know but my birthday is coming up and I was surprised by a very early birthday gift from one of my coworkers and friend. She gave me a Coach bracelet and Burt’s Bees skin care mini set. So cute!

A DAY AT WORK.. BOO…

So I decided to make a blog post with ACTUAL WORDS in it. HAHA. I admit… I am not the best in typing up eloquent narratives about my daily business, etcetera, etcetera. I HATE WRITING. Not that I did bad with my papers in high school and college – I took AP English in H.S. btw– but it is just sooooo tedious… As much as possible, if it is not necessary for me to write, I won’t. If anyone seriously comments about my grammar, syntax, and punctuation… two words for you… F*CK YOU!!! I don’t care LOL (I guess that’s five words).

So… I decided to write… or type this… because I want to reflect on my day… and maybe this will serve as sort of a therapeutic activity… and also to give you a glimpse of what I do for a living.

I am a Registered Nurse (a.k.a. RN). I start my day at work with getting report from the night-shift nurse at 7am (because I work dayshift)… Now, the report I get can really make or break it for me. Depending on the report I get, I kind of already know what to expect for the day… and I can usually tell when things would go smoothly, or roughly, or severely fucking ballistic throughout the day. Today… it was the latter.

I remember texting my boyfriend after finishing my initial rounds on my patients after report, saying… “Based on my report … ain’t lookin’ too good. I already f*ckin hate this day!” Mind you, this was only 8am in the morning, an hour since I came in to work. (Sh*t… I’m already tired of typing this crap. LOL)

Anyway… so I give like… 10+ medications for each of my four patients, one of which was a new admission (meaning a patient coming in from the Emergency Department) who just arrived the floor at 7:10am. (Excuse me if you are not familiar with health care/nursing/medicine jargon, sorry). New admissions are a PAIN!!! Because you have to document a full history and assessment for the patient… and at the same time make sure initial blood work is done… figure out meds they’re on OR should be on… attach the holter monitor… take vital signs… write a care plan… all that crap. When the patient comes in for chest pain, gotta draw blood for Cardiac Enzymes every 6 hours... get EKG… which is the case for this new admission patient of mine. Meanwhile… also having to do another every-6-hours cardiac enzymes blood draw on ANOTHER one of my patients.

Then breakfast trays come in and of course… you gotta “cover” your diabetics with their insulin injections before they eat… NPH, 70/30, Novolog combos… blood sugars that are skyrocketing to the 200’s-300’s… eff that. So I finally “cover” my two diabetics… then started giving out my 9am meds…

(THIS IS PARAGRAPH No. 6) … while I always get interrupted with doctors asking questions… people requesting me to do this, do that… annoying families calling and requesting ridiculous stuff… being called to the nursing station by an obnoxiously sounding public announcer “KRYSHA TO THE DESK PLEASE, KRYSHA TO THE DESK!!!” … while hearing the irritating phone call from the telemetry room!!! in which they say “Oh this patient is off the monitor… this patient’s monitor a battery change..” Monitor=holter monitor = heart monitor. In short… CHAOS in dayshift!!!

Okay so I finally got to one of my patients, and I’m supposed to give furosemide 40mg IV… when upon flushing the IV… the freaking IV infiltrated! In my head I was like… “F*CK!!! Now I gotta put in a new IV access!!! That’s just in my head… Towards the patient I am like the calmest motherf*cker you’ll ever meet.

Then I learned that my new admission is retaining urine in his bladder (thru bladder scan).. so I spent 15 min inserting a 14 french foley catheter to drain the urine… aseptic technique blah

SO I leave that for later… ate lunch… crab cakes YUMM! Texting bf.. texting friends..

…then I come back to the floor and learned that one of my OTHER patient’s blood pressure is 91/61… (low)!!!…. and he is due to be given a bunch of blood pressure meds… mostly for his Congestive Heart Failure and uncontrolled heart rate (aflutter). So first thing’s first… I had to make the doctor aware… but she still freaking wanted to give some of the blood pressure medications… because some of it has heart-rate controlling properties… and this patient’s heart rate is like in the 120’s (high).

SO okay… I document that the doctor still wants the med given… okay I covered my ass because I documented that I suggested the meds to be held (meaning not to be given) but she still wants it given…I only gave the metoprolol 12.5 mg PO (low dose) and held everything else… just to control the heart rate…

Meanwhile… lunch trays are coming in… and I’m like… "already!??” Now I had to cover my diabetics insulin again…

Then.. this patient went bad… This… is the start of my REAL chaos. Blood pressure plummeting to the 70’s systolic… (80/55, 79/53…) Dizzy… Lethargic… low urine output (only 20 cc in the foley bag)… confusion… oxygen saturation in the 80s…

What got me more pissed is that.. the freaking phlebotomist didn’t tell me that she wasn’t able to draw blood from THAT particular patient for labs!!! And it was her time to leave and she never mentioned it! Goddamn! Now I have to draw those labs too…

( I am so tired of typing now LOL)

Okay… so I had to give this patient with the low BP a 500cc bolus of IV fluids (Normal Saline)… to make it sound easier to understand, I had to infuse IV fluids rapidly into his body to compensate for the low blood pressure… while this patient is adamantly requesting for me to leave and stop “whatever the f*ck” I’m doing. He wasn’t that alert and oriented at the time. Finally got the blood draws (CBC and Screen 8)… respiratory therapist did the ABGs (arterial blood gas)… waiting for a whole hour for the Critical Care team to evaluate him…. gave him an additional 250 cc of Normal Saline bolus… digoxin PO x 2, drew additional blood work (blood cultures) because the doctors are thinking “Cardiogenic shock versus Septic shock)…

Long story short.. (well, it’s kinda too late to say that LOL)… I transferred this patient to the critical care unit… after spending 3 hours on this patient and giving a long-ass report to the ICU nurse…

It was finally 5:50 pm when I finished all that crap… still didn’t document any of my assessments in because I had no time… then I learned that I am supposed to get another new admission… woo-hoo! …while “Paragraph No. 6” is still going on in the background…. sheesh FML. I do delegate some stuff to the nursing assistants by the way.

SO I hurried up to give my supposedly 5 0’clock meds (late!), give dinner insulins… getting one of my patients back from dialysis… cleaning stool off my completely dependent post-CVA patient…

So from 6pm-7pm (7pm being the end of my shift)… this is all I did in that ONE HOUR span: Gave all my patients’ 5 o’clock meds, gave insulin injections, inserted a new IV (remember the infiltrated IV?), drew Cardiac enzymes (blood draw)… and received the last new admission… all in one hour…. F*CK!!! I can’t believe I do all this almost on a daily basis at work!!!

So I was very glad to give report, but of course… Nursing is 24/7… You can’t expect a nurse to do everything in one shift… so naturally I had to leave some stuff for the night shift nurse to do… including finishing documentations for the new admission who arrived at 6:50pm (10 minutes before the end of my shift)…. and drawing the last cardiac enzyme set for the other patient.

With all that said… I just can’t believe I ended up writing a whole novel about this.. LOL JK.

With all that said… do you think it is worth it to go through all that stress for an awesome paycheck? I still have this ambiguous perspective of my job. I can say that I have a pretty high stress-tolerance… I also love that I get 4 days off work in a week…

But my job is no joke… it truly IS the definition of “STRESSFUL”… Sometimes I can’t imagine my co-workers going through all that stress, and then coming home to another stressful environment (meaning kids). How do they manage to do that sh*t!? I’m glad I’m still young to do this…

Well… if you read this whole thing… I can only say that… I AM IMPRESSED!!! You either are a nurse or work in health care to understand all this…. sh*t.

If you are following me on twitter, you would know that I fell in love with this primetime vampire TV show called True Blood! I didn’t like it in the beginning because I thought it was more soft core porn than anything else… but as I progressed with watching more episodes, I learned to love the story, the characters (except Sookie), the events, and especially the thrill!
So when I learned that Tarte has a limited edition palette and cheek stain, I HAD TO GET IT! Thanks to DustyOHunter on youtube for providing me with this useful information through his review video, I literally rushed to Sephora just to get it! After a few weeks, here is finally an update! I have been busy with work, and going to the beach. I must say that the beach is probably my most favorite place to enjoy and have fun, next to maybe Disney World or Universal Studios in Orlando, FL :P.

We went to the Jenkinsons Aquarium in Point Pleasant, NJ. It’s a good place to bring your kids because you can actually touch sting rays and starfishes. Point Pleasant becah is probably the best beach I’ve been to in the U.S. so far. I have yet to try the Florida beaches.

I invited my cousin’s wife to hangout with us in Wildwood, NJ. and we had such a great time!
I still have to post my skydiving photos! Make sure you wait for that. I have more to come.

Cuba Libre & LBI, NJ

Hello Everyone! The following photo collection are from a little walk we had at Olde City in Philadelphia, PA. It’s a great place to hangout for 21+. Unfortunately, I am not 21 yet so I couldn’t really go to most of the places in there, nor drink alcoholic beverages, of course. However, we (me + bf) decided to eat at this one amazing Cuban-inspired restaurant called Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar. When you visit Philadelphia, make sure to eat at this restaurant. The ambience, the music, and the overall atmosphere, is very lively and fun. Check it out!
And of course, I included a look/makeup of the day photo :)

The next photo collection you will see are shots from Long Beach Island, NJ. (Ship Bottom & Beach Haven Area) I really liked the view, the shops, and this one particular and very peculiar diner-style restaurant called “The Chicken or the Egg.” Very odd name, but they serve really delicious food! Sad to say, not very healthy menu choices. But if you love a variety of chicken and egg dishes, this is exactly the place to be!
As for the beach, well… I wasn’t very pleased. Too much seaweeds and jelly fish.

Lastly, here are just random shots from 4th of July!!! I loved this Coach bag I saw in the store that I just had to take a picture of it!

So anticipate that this post will be very random (as the title says). It’s a collection of pictures I captured within the past three weeks. :) A very hasty one but I hope you enjoy.
This is my friend Bonnie and we had a nice little makeup session. She asked me to do her makeup, and she said she loved it! I’m so glad. Then we hung out downtown for all-you-can-eat sushi!

Atlantic City and Six Flags

This is a photo compilation of our trip to Atlantic City and Six Flags Great Adventures.

Atlantic City is a famous place for its shoreline boardwalk, casinos, shopping malls, & restaurants. First we stopped by at this Vietnamese restaurant along the highway to eat pho. Then, we headed to A.C. and walked inside Tropicana, walked along the boardwalk, inside the shopping malls, got some ice cream, walked more until we were tired, and ate at Rainforest Cafe. The last photo is a shot of the ceiling in Rainforest Cafe! Be sure to check that out.

Six Flags Great Adventures is a very awesome Amusement Park, very famous for its incredible roller coasters. You will see some images that I captured when we rode the cable car rides called “SkyWay.” Enjoy!

   “When I was in college, I studied old videos of Skinner's rats. B.F. Skinner was the "father" of behavioral psychology. He dedicated his life to studying how far rats (and people) were willing to go in order to receive a reward or avoid a punishment.
     As a culmination of his research, he randomly assigned either a yummy rat food pellet or an electric shock to be delivered to rats who navigated a maze. These rats had been conditioned to expect that they would receive a food pellet when they reached the end of the maze. However, in this experiment, their speed or accuracy had no bearing on the outcome. Sometimes they received a pellet; sometimes they received an electric shock. In all other respects, the rats received all of their basic needs. They received adequate sleep, adequate food, adequate socialization, etc. The only uncertainty was what they received when they navigated the mazes each day.
     The effects of this experiment were remarkable. Some rats curled up at the start of the maze, refusing to complete the task for which they had trained for years. Other rats became overtly aggressive, attacking any other rats attempting to run the maze. Still other rats became blinded to their surroundings, oblivious to anything but the goal of completing the maze. When they finished, regardless of whether they received a reward or a punishment, they would return to the starting area and run the maze again and again. All of the rats experienced some sort of ill effect, such as sleep disturbances, appetite changes, increased aggression, self-mutilation, etc.
     Nursing reminds me a lot of being one of Skinner's rats. Sometimes I get a manageable patient load--and sometimes I'm in WAY over my head. Sometimes I speak with a physician who is courteous and professional--and sometimes I get verbal abuse, condescension, or worse, despite my best efforts to be prepared and professional. Sometimes I get patients who appreciate my efforts--and sometimes I get spit on or battered. For me, that's what makes nursing so difficult. I am the person who has ultimate responsibility for the patient, but no matter how hard I try, no matter how fast I work, no matter how balls-on accurate I am in my craft, I have no effect on the outcome. Worse still, I am as powerless as Skinner's rats. Because of our hospital culture, I am powerless to speak out against managers, physicians and patients who present unfair expectations.
     As a result of this powerlessness and random nature of rewards/punishments, I see the same effects in my co-workers as Skinner saw in his rats. Resignation, horizontal violence, insomnia, "nursemares", obesity, ulcers, anxiety, ETOH and drug abuse, "eating their young" and so on...
I want no part of that. The IDEAL of nursing may be noble, but the REALITY is far less inspiring. God help the patients. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind going into nursing.” -Anonymous

I just wanted to share it somehow because I thought it was interesting. I am not saying that this is my own opinion of my current profession. I admit that sometimes I feel exactly the same way as this random person, but most of the time I can manage my way through a shift without any problems. Sometimes, I think of it as a challenge that I feel very proud to survive and accomplish. Sometimes, I think of it as hell on earth. Most of the time, it’s just whatever. The only time I think that it is heaven is when I get my paycheck, seriously. Haha. It is a very rewarding job, but sometimes the stress (mental and physical) is more costly than the reward. People think differently about it. Feel welcome to respond.

For this design, I used Essie Nail Polish “Sugar Daddy” and used a Konad Stamping nail design with white nail polish on top. I got a lot of compliments on these! kawaii! It’s the 3rd day that I’m wearing this and it still did not chip! Sugoii!

And then the next photos are just a bunch of narcissistic photos in which I especially made myself look thin on (thanks to camera angles lol!) No photoshop.

Hey everyone! I am really loving my new contact lenses. I got them from WRLens.com . Check them out! They are really worth it, very comfy. These are yearly lenses (meaning each pair lasts a year) so the price, although it may seem very expensive, is actually not far from what most people pay for dailies or monthly contact lenses. The only con is that you can only buy it from Europe. No one sells it in the U.S. nor any other continent so you would have to wait for at least 3 weeks top get your online purchase. All in all, I love them! You judge.

I am so happy that I finally acquired this latest obsession of mine! I’ve been meaning to get this kind of style of watch. I initially wanted a Chanel; J12 watch but they are ridiculously expensive! (we are talking about literally thousands $$$) So I found this Fossil watch for $50 that looks like a Chanel J12 and I love it! It is not a ceramic watch though that’s why it wasn’t that expensive. Nonetheless, I am more than happy with this watch! Thanks boyfie for the early anniversay gift!

Stardust Diner. This diner is awesome because the servers sing to you! Plus, the food is great! If there is any place in Times Square you should eat in, it’s Stardust Diner!

White Dog Cafe

This restaurant/bar/cafe is a great place to dine on special occasions. I say “special occasions” because it’s a bit out of the average person’s price range and can be a little bit pricey. It is one off “those” places that serve a big-ass square plate with the food occupying only one-fourth of it. Not that it’s a negative matter in this case. The entree size was just the right-sized portion for my stomach. Anything more than what I was served would have been a waste that I had to take home. For the first course, I had Wild Mushroom soup, $9, which was excellent! The most expensive entree in their dinner menu is their “Green Meadow Farm Filet Mignon” served with parsnip puree sauce, creamy pearl onions, and artichokes, $36. It’s bit sweeter than my taste but otherwise is worth the price. It surprisingly filled me up!
They also had a bar which was overcrowded once it hit 6:30pm! This place, once you dine in, you will never forget, because it obviously is a very famous place in University City of Philadelphia! I really highly recommend this place for people who loves good food and wine. (Although I never tried any alcohol because I’m under 21, but considering how many people were there for the bar, you get what I mean)

I'm in a point in my life where I should settle into what I think my greatest passion should be... or should have been... If I were to choose, which one would be most efficient to choose. I chose a career path very different from my initial greatest passions, and now I am stuck with trying to figure out how to still hold on to those passions I dearly long for. I cannot say I am currently sad, but I cannot say I am happy either. I guess in life, we just grow up to realize that there are some things we just have to give up to make way for better things in the future. I have always been a woman of all trades, but time does not allow me to do so anymore. I have to choose which skill I should hone the most in order to be successful and happy in the life, and may life allow me to be happy and content.

Assassin’s Creed II DONE!!

OMG me and my sister just finished playing Assassin’s Creed II. The ending, it's so mind-boggling! Just to summarize my experience of playing the game, I thought the gameplay was not that hard at all. If me and my sister can beat it, everyone should be able to. It's more of the graphics and scenery that is so magnificent, so outstanding! But the storyline, that’s another thing, it's just so out of the box and very impressive! They [by that I mean Ubisoft] took a lot of elements from history and religion and created a whole unique story out of it. No Spoilers here. You gotta find out for yourselves! Every one has their own interpretation of the ending and for me, it happens to be something very interesting that even when I wish not to believe it’s outrageously fictional characteristic, it kind of makes a lot of sense and you end up questioning whether or not it is a possibility. A lot of confusion here haha. But anyway, I still stick to my belief that Assassin’s Creed II is highly and pure fiction so I won’t let it boggle my mind too much. Highly recommend it to everyone! Ciao~

Five Category Coding for Triage

* 1 Red—Most urgent; first priority
First-priority patients have life-threatening injuries and are experiencing hypoxia or nearing hypoxia. Examples of injuries in this category include shock, chest wounds, internal hemorrhage, head injuries producing increased loss of consciousness, partial- or full-thickness burns over 20% to 60% of the body surface, and chest pain.

* 2 Yellow—Urgent; second priority
Second-priority patients have injuries with systemic effects and complications but are not yet hypoxic or in shock. The patients appear stable enough to withstand up to a 2-hour wait without immediate risk. Examples of injuries in this category include multiple fractures, open fractures, spinal injuries, large lacerations, partial- or full-thickness burns over 10% to 20% of the body surface, and medical emergencies, such as diabetic coma, insulin shock, and epileptic seizure. Patients with second-priority status might need to be observed closely for signs of shock, at which time they would be re-categorized to first priority.

* 3 Green—Third priority
Third-priority patients have minimal injuries unaccompanied by systemic complications. Usually these patients can wait more than 2 hours for treatment without danger. Examples of injuries in this category include closed fractures, minor burns, minor lacerations, sprains, contusions, and abrasions.

* 4 Black—Dying or dead
Dying or dead patients are hopelessly injured patients or dead victims. These patients have catastrophic injuries (e.g., crushing injuries to the head or chest) and would not survive under the best of circumstances. These patients create the greatest difficulty, because failure to treat patients conflicts with nursing philosophy. In a disaster, triage must give the chance of survival to the greatest number of victims rather than to one individual. * 5 Contaminated—Might have a color code or a hazardous material (HAZ MAT) triangle tag

Nightmare Again

Okay, so let me tell you about my day today first. I went out with a friend whom I missed very dearly. I have not seen her in a very long time. It was nice to know more about how her life has changed and how the both of us are ready to graduate. It's amazing to see how a lot has changed, from being unserious in our "People & Places" class to leading separate professions and separate lifestyles. I was glad to know that she loves what she does, her job, and her life. It was very inspiring.

Okay so down to business... I had another nightmare. Remember the last time I wrote about my nightmares? After that I thought, I can't be having anymore nightmares; it's just too much. Well guess what? Last night, I had another nightmare. I am so very sick of these bad dreams! They always test my fears and the worse thing is, they always seem so real. I never go into my dream and think, "oh this is nothing, this is just a dream." I always think it is real no matter how unrealistic it is, which I hate! ...Well actually, there is always a point in my dream (usually at before it ends) where I realize it's just a dream. But that's at the edge, right before when I wake up. It is a very creepy feeling mixed with the greatest relief you can ever feel... I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone whenever I dream. It's very scary...

Anyway what I dreamed last night was... I was getting ready to go to work. In real life, I extern at this large hospital. In my dream, it was a totally different hospital that I've never seen in my entire life. (I do not understand why I do not realize these unrealistic things in my dream; I just go about it thinking that it's real.) Anyway, in my dream, I was about to work night shift 7p-7a (which I never do!). I came in, saw some people I do not recognize but I still said hi. Went up to the unit that I was assigned which was on the 8th floor. The elevator of course was very creepy. I was alone in the elevator. Now in my dream, 8th floor was supposed to be an ICU unit (I really do not recognize this hospital). It looked very different: narrow hallways, glass walls so the nurses can view the patient rooms, nursing station was very small, staff lounge was awfully large. It was very dim in the unit. The lighting was horrible with a greenish undertone, like the ones you see in zombie movies. What was scary was nobody was there. No nurses, no patients, no one... I thought I made a mistake but it was the right floor, I double checked. However odd it was, I did not bother investigating further.I thought, huh maybe I can just stay here and do nothing until the end of the shift. The lights flickered. I tried calling out but my voice just echoed across the hallway. I went to the staff lounge which was very dark. I tried turning on the light, but it was a very dim light, kind of like the ones in the dark photo rooms. I got a little bit annoyed... most importantly, I got a little bit scared. I was about to get out of the staff lounge but right before I come out, the door banged, shut by itself and the lights went out! I jolted backwards. I was petrified for a moment. I was horrified. I felt impending doom. I started crying. I don't remember screaming; I was too scared to scream. My heart started pumping harder. I could not see a damn thing; it was pretty fucking dark. I was sobbing insanely. I did not know what to do until I took a deep breath, took the courage to force myself and go the door. I pulled it very hard but it wouldn't budge. Let me out!!! I started hearing someone moaning. I started hearing more moaning, zombieish type moaning. Ghostly moaning. I started hearing horrible things in my head as I yanked hard on the door handle. Oh my God you cannot imagine how I felt, it felt like I was going to die. I could not see a damn thing because the darkness was pitch black. I kept my eyes closed. My heart was pumping rapidly and forcefully. I was very afraid of what was around me. My tears were ripping out of my eyes and I was panting so very fucking hard until I could not breath. I was desperately crying out for help!!! I tried to shut all the voices off my head as I repeatedly yanked the door handle, banging the door, yanking the door handle. I forcefully put all my strength into yanking that door handle and BAM! It finally opened. I ran out crying, HELP!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME! I tripped and I tried to get up when I felt something grab my arm so quickly that I felt a panging pain on the connection of my shoulder...

Oh my God why am I being so dramatic with this. I'm just trying to give an accurate description of what I felt. You see in my dreams, sometimes I realize it's not real then I try to pinch my cheeks and, scary as it is, I actually feel it, in my fucking dreams. I do not understand why, then sometimes I think, maybe this is not a dream, but it is. My dreams are INSANE! I hate this...

Anway, someone pulled my arm and it was the janitor. He was smiling. He looked very calm when we asked me, "hey, are you alright?" I looked around, tears starting to dry tightening up my whole face. Unbelievable enough, everyone was there. The brightness were illuminating through my teary eyes. The nurses were in the nursing station, busy. The doctors were running around. I hear call bells ringing. I hear patients calling for help. I hear ventilators alarming. It was the normal busy sound of an ICU unit.

Somebody complained of me not doing my job. Oh the confusion! I felt very shocked and confused. I felt insane. I talked to the manager of the unit... I tried to explain what happened/ She thought I was crazy. I thought I was going crazy. She asked me, "name five things that you like" (no pausing) and I should name them quickly. At first I thought, what the hell is she asking? How is this related to my problem? I still had tears on my face, by the way. I tried to think for a few seconds but she got angry and yelled at me. Then I named things that popped out of my mind. I forgot what I said exactly. I believe I said... Tobi, Richard, makeup, horror movies... oh I said nursing too. She nodded her head in affirmation. She looked cocky. She said "There ya go, you watch too much horror movies." I just cried the rest of my dreama nd I couldn't do any damn work... until I realized maybe this is a dream, and I see that gray haze, and everything gets blurry, then everything turns white... then I wake up.

Crazy isn't it... this was not my scariest one. I've had way scarier ones that this. Like I said, I'll start writing down summaries of my dreams to keep track of them because they happen so very often. I'll see what I can make out of it.

I just watched the movie "The Blind Side" and boy did I cry a hell lot of tears. This movie was very touching. 5/5 STARS!!! I recommend everyone to watch it.

Dreams and Cheating

Recently, I get these weird dreams that are just mind-boggling. You see, I just thought about writing down my dreams so that I can keep track of them. They are just pure bizarre and macabre. I usually do not get happy dreams; most of the time they are very strange even if they are happy. One time I dreamed of going to a carnival where nobody gets out (you would be freaked out to know why). It is too graphic to describe. I also once dreamed of insanely running down a long, tall, dark, rusty stairway full of dismembered human heads. It is the freakiest thing ever... running back down seemed like an eternity so I decided to run back up. I thought I was going crazy. At the roof top, I saw this evil spider-looking shiny metal machine that decapitates people. What was odd is that the people are all couples and they lined up willingly to be decapitated. I dreamed of having a death match with gymnast, Nastia Lukin. What was funny was it was a death match on a trapeze-looking-thing. Guess what, I won (for some really odd reason). Well, I guess it is my dream. It was very very strange... I really do not understand my dreams. I wish I can get meaning out of them.

I get happy dreams too like one time I dreamed I was flying on an all-glass helicopter, so I can view the world in all dimensions. It was very cool. I like flying dreams, it nice that I get them a lot too. My happiest dream was when I was flying with my boyfriend over and around the Harry Potter Hogwarts castle (I believe the one in Disney World). Or was it Universal Studios? I forgot.

Anyway, my dream last night... Have you ever dreamed about having another boyfriend or girlfriend, or being with another person instead of your current boyfriend or girlfriend. I do not understand why I get those dreams. I love my boyfriend very much. One time, my boyfriend told me that he dreamed about having a different girlfriend whom he doesn't know, with blonde hair. I guess it is perfectly normal. I am very satisfied with my relationship with my boyfriend. Yet, these dreams are just so bizarre. I dream of my ex-boyfriend pretty damn often too; I do not know why. As much as I know, I already completely forgot about him. What's odd was, last night I dreamed of Charlie McDonnell as my boyfriend (you know the guy from Charlieissocoollike). I love that guy but I really never thought of him that way... Now whenever I watch his videos, I always think about that dream.

I guess I will never get answers to these mind-boggling dreams. My boyfriend told me that he never had dreams as strange as mines... Have you had strange dreams too?

Yay! I finally feel very happy indeed! My dark days are over for spring time is coming forth! I am so excited. It's always very bright and sunny now. The weather is getting a little bit warmer. I love spring time... definitely my favorite season. I know I may have been obsessed with summer recently but I do love spring time a lot more.

So. I am in a point in my life where I am once again... uncertain. What is up with this negative atmosphere surrounding me? I really have to stop. lol.

Sigh. It's not because I'm choosing to feel negative; it's just everything around me causes me stress (life of a typical college student). Work, classes, tests, clinical days, NCLEX, boyfriend (even though bf produces stress, bf also relieves stress). These are my life right now.

Sigh Oh Sigh. My life has halted into this hell pit. It's like a never ending cycle.

Today was a very sad day. Sometimes I wonder, should I ever share to people my negative feelings, negative experiences that I experience everyday? Well, not everyday, but you know... whenever I have bad feelings. Sometimes I think, this would make people think that I am emotionally incompetent. Most of the time, I conceal my sadness and replace it with a bright happy face because I care too much about what other people think of me. However, there will just be a time where it all bursts out. Today was that time. Today, I felt totally mortified and embarrassed. Today was one of those days where I felt like it was the end of the world. How I wish I can explain here the details but it is too personal. I have my own self-issues to deal with and it is quite embarrassing to share. Sometimes I think, am I different from other people? How does other people keep their composure so very well. Must be experience. To be honest, I think I had way to many bad experiences. It must because of something else.

Sometimes I think... why are my tears shallow, and why does it come out at the wrong places and the wrong times? Why is it so hard for me to hold it back? Why can other people hold it back? Is it because of my age? or simply my character? is it my culture? So many questions that runs through my mind.

Sometimes I think... how could I change? Why do I have to write here...? Before I decided to write this, I thought to myself: there is nothing I should be ashamed of, for it is the same reasons that make me human. I am not perfect. I shall grieve when I need to. I shall weep when I need to. I shall express my emotions when I need to. Sigh.

Just for a quick fact, I am not sad anymore, just embarrassed. I think that it is quite a natural reaction to feel that pitting-in-your-stomach feeling that makes you want to cringe in embarrassment. I have felt it so many times and I know I will get over it.

So let me ask you, how do you deal with sadness?

Most of the time when I am sad I think: as long as it does not affect my ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), then I am not mentally-ill. Usually, that is how you distinguish a mentally-ill person from a healthy one. (I learned this in Psychiatric class)

Sometimes, people forget how special they are to you. Send your loved ones a little something from time to time to show how much you love them. I have been doing this whenever I feel like it. A little reassurance goes a long way.
